Nixtieq nghidlek prosit tas-'site' verament interessanti u nformattiva dwar li inti ghandek dwar l-ghana Malti u dak kollu li ghandu x'jaqsam ma' dan is-suggett. Permezz ta' din il-'mail' nixtieq nghinek izzid ghannejj maghruf sew fost id-dilettanti ta' l-ghana. Dan huwa Pawlu Pace imlaqqam "Ta' Majna" minn Birzebbuga. Huwa twieled fiz-Zurrieq fl-1943 u ghalkemm m'ghadux attiv hafna f'dan il-qasam, ghadu jsegwi hafna l-ghana fuq ir-Radju u xi kultant jaghmel xi programm jew xi serata ukoll. Niehu pjacir hafna jekk twegibni u nselli ghalik. (John nixtieq li prosit nghidlek - Ta kemm inti patrijott, - Ibqa' cert li l-website tieghek - Qieghda taghti hafna frott.)

I loved your page presentation. Very Neat. I'm not a big fan of 'Ghana' but can I still make one suggestion. Can you publish some info about the Music the guitarists play. I would still like to play some on my guitar. Thanks a lot.

My name is Charles Schembri, 48 y/o living in Sydney Australia, I left Malta in 1966 and unfortunately never returned (may be one day). I'm a novice at the net, by accident I came on to your page and was so thrilled, I downloaded a couple of ghana and I hope it works, if it doesn't it will be my fault. I would like to congratulate you and keep up the good work. by the way, I will come back to your page no worries about that.

Nice site. My father will love these pages I printed for him with all the "ghannejja". He is 85 years old and still talks about Malta all the time. We visited Malta 3 years ago and I think it was his last time as he is getting to old to travel long distances anymore. We live in Leisure World in Seal Beach California. We migrated to the U.S. in 1951.

Greetings from Down Under. Manny Casha, of Melbourne, sent me your details. Congratulations on a great homepage. I'm a Research Fellow at Victoria University of Technology, which has a campus in the heart of Melbourne's Maltese territory - St. Albans. I live part of the time in my home in Canberra, too, where there's much archival research to do. I'm writing a history of Maltese settlement in Australia since 1949. My previous books have been more historical, focusing on the period prior to the second world war. Despite my surname - York - my Dad is Maltese. He was born Loretu Meilak but he changed his name after the Second World war when the Air Force (which he joined in Malta) stationed him in London. He changed his name from Meilak to York and, later, met my mother and I was born. We migrated to Melbourne in 1954. By the way, my Dad's brothers and sisters, parents, etc., were all from Ghajnsielem, Gozo. The nickname was Tan-Nassi. My Dad, however, being the eleventh child, happened to be born in Sliema, Malta, as the family moved there from Gozo around 1916. My Dad was born in 1918. I'm quite intrigued by ghana and how it has been kept alive by migrants here in Australia. I co-ordinate a project for the National Library of Australia called "the Maltese-Australian Folklife and Social History Project". We've recorded ghannejja in western Sydney and, thanks to Manny's help, had a great week of recording in Melbourne last November. The National Library preserves these sound recordings using state-of-the-art technologies. They should still be here in a few hundred years from now. They are, of course, stored digitally. Well, enough from me. Hope to hear from you.

WELL DONE it is great to see Ghana get this sort of professional recognition. Congratulations. If you need further help do not hesitate.
