Greetings!

Time is close again for our Annual General Meeting. This year we are having this at The Tawa Community Centre which is at No 6 Cambridge Terrace Tawa. We plan to be there from 2PM till about 5PM. on the 21st of September which is also the anniversary of Malta gaining its independence .Whilst there members can see our permanent display kindly hosted by Mr Malcolm Sparrow.
 
We have been approached by Mr Paul Calleja of Western Australia who is wanting to write a book about the Experiences of Survivors of Malta’s Second Siege which happened during WW2. An article about this is in the newsletter but we will hopefully be making contact with people born before 1930 to run questionnaires /interviews with them.
 
We have also received a copy of an excellent book written by Mr Laurence Dimech of Sydney written both in Maltese and English about the experiences of migrants to Australia and New Zealand.This book is available for sale at AU $ 20 a copy. If there are members interested in buying a copy please contact me and I will make an order for the same. The association will cover costs of postage for this. The book is entitled Telqu Ghall Ghonq it-Trieq(They left along the road).
 
We hereby wish to congratulate both Mrs Patricia Thake and Dr Carmen Dalli for again being appointed Honarary Consuls for Malta in New Zealand.
