No less than 200
members attended the Christmas Get Together of Reskeon
Maltese Association. This was held at the usual venue,
the hall of the Maltese Community Council in Parkville.
Members attended Mass at the Chapel of St Paul's which
once again proved to be too small for the number of
people attending. Fr John Taliana, Provincial, MSSP,
celebrated Mass.
Afterwards all members gathered in the hall where they
were served a light meal which consisted of firstly ante
pasta then followed by baked pasta (imqarun il-forn).
Later on members were also served pastizzi. Beer and
soft drinks were provided all night, as well as tea and
coffee.
As in every year, Mrs Helen Fenech baked some Christmas
cakes for us which were sliced and shared by all
members. The cake was delicious and again we would like
to take this opportunity to thank Mrs Fenech for her
hard work in baking these cakes for us. Thank you.
Music for the night was provided by Moods Music with
Mario Sammut as DJ. Members danced all night after
tables were moved to make room for the dancing. Members
enjoyed this night which again was provided free of
charge.
President John Gauci gave a short talk about the
association and said that the committee was always on
the move trying to organise more functions for its
members.
Thanks to members of the committee of Reskeon Maltese
Association and Reskeon Seniors Group who helped with
preparing the food and cleaning up afterwards. Thanks to
Tony Borg who was in charge of the baked pasta, helped
by Edwin Baldacchino. We also thank the members for
attending this Christmas break-up and for making the
night a happy and enjoyable one by their behaviour.
