Got your site address from a Greek magazine. I did not know Malta had it's own folklore music. I will be visiting your site again.

93: Raymond Attard - Sydney - Australia - 08/12/98
My name is Raymond Attard from Sydney Australia and a friend of Manuel Casha. I am actively part of the ghana in Sydney and play the Prim on the guitar for the ghana. This is my first time on the net and after browsing through this information, I must say that I am incredibly impressed. Furthermore, I wish to participate in adding material on ghana, particularily on the Sydney perspective. I have many old tapes dating back when Indrin il pupa was in his 30's, and many of the older ghaneja were alive and photo's as well.

Great website for bringing back the memories of weekends when my dad would invite all his Maltese folk singing friends and relatives for some unforgetable times.

I have only just come across the site & am impressed. My uncle, Guzeppi Meli "ta' Sika" is listed on your Folksingers page.

I thought your material was interesting and bore the marks of a true aficionado. As you may know I have been working on undertanding the transformations that have affected both the production and consumption of ghana, so it would be good to get information and insights into contemporary ghana. Best wishes, Paul Sant Cassia, Deprtment of Anthropology. University of Durham. UK

Very impressed. Thank you for being an ambassador of Maltese Folklore Ghana. I myself served the Maltese Community In Toronto through Radio and Cable TV Programmes for most of my 23 years living in Toronto. Ghana was one of the subjects broadcasted on Radio CHIN FM Multi cultural Radio Station broadcasting in 32 ethnic languages. Graham Cable Tv Fm also contributed towards the Maltese Talent. History and Folklore. The Maltese Programme Fan Club in Toronto around 1975-79 brought many talents from Malta. Ghana Folk singers were amongst them. In Toronto, Windsor and Detroit Ghana is still alive. I returned to Gozo in 1991 and serving in my ability with Radio Calypso. CALYPSO 102.3 FM " with a better music mix. Thank you and have a festive GHANA holiday.

Hey, cool site...this is coming from lorna living in the US and have for 21 years but refuse to become a citizen since I would rather live in Malta with the rest of my family but the father of my twins likes it here! I have relatives in Scotland - Dundee actually they are Blanche and Jack Miller, my aunt Blanche was a "carbone".

I was stunned with the quality and content of this site. I downloaded some ghana and when I heard it, it brough back memories of my childhood. I come from Qormi and my dad used to take me with him to most of the ghana sessions happening there (which were quite frequent). A couple of questions. Have you got any ghana by Ganni Il-Laus.? And is the any recordings by Indrin Il-Pupa? I was brought up where Indrin comes from. I used to live in 13 Pinto Street Qormi right in the middle of what was happening. I remember many a summer evenings sitting on the pavement outside listening to Indrin strumming his guitar. I miss that now. Anyway shant ramble on. Keep up the good work. Twanny.
